Knoxville Area Association of Realtors Endorse KUB's Fiber and Broadband Plan

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee — The Knoxville Area Association of Realtors (KAAR) today announced that its Board of Directors voted to endorse KUB's Fiber and Broadband Plan, which would modernize its electric grid and provide broadband services to all customers in its service territory. The Board also sent a letter this morning to City Council members informing them of KAAR's support and urging members to authorize the plan.

"Reliance on virtual environments during the pandemic highlighted the essential role internet plays in our personal and professional lives," said Hancen Sale, KAAR's Governmental Affairs and Policy Director. "Our Board understands that access to reliable and affordable internet is necessary to live and function in modern society, which is why they recognize broadband is an essential public utility and support KUB's plan to offer internet to all customers in its electric service territory."
